Each bread we bake is an exploration, a journey of flavors and textures meant to surprise and delight—whether it's a familiar twist on a classic or a completely new creation. Our goal? To make bread that’s not only delicious but also healthy and full of character.

Baking as a Career

The story of ShyDough begins with its founder, who moved from China to the Netherlands to study and then spent almost five years working in the financial industry. But as much as she enjoyed her career, she realized it wasn’t quite the right fit for her introverted nature. Baking, on the other hand, felt like home—quiet, creative, and full of endless possibilities. And so, ShyDough was born.

Meaning of the Name 'ShyDough'

The name “ShyDough” comes from a blend of the founder’s introverted personality and the idea that dough, like life, has no limits. "Shy" also sounds like "晒" (shài), the Chinese character for “bathing under the sunshine,” which is key to how we approach our baking. Just like dough needs warmth to rise and develop, we hope every bread we create brings a little bit of sunshine, especially on those chilly, rainy days.
